
Sofia Bowman, BA, is a communications assistant at the American Institutes for Research (AIR) and serves on the communications team for the Region 9 Comprehensive Center (R9CC). Additionally, she serves as the R9CC Advisory Board liaison, helping facilitate board meetings, including board member affinity group meetings and activities. Her role helps connect board members with project teams to utilize their expertise and advice to further R9CC's mission.
Sofia also serves as a communications and dissemination team member on various projects at AIR, including the Lead for Literacy Center, the CTE Research Network, and the Center for Applied Research in Postsecondary Education. She develops and manages social media accounts, official websites, and newsletters. She works collaboratively with communications and projects leads to create various dissemination materials, including infographics, videos, viewing guides, and other promotional materials. Sofia also has experience collecting qualitative data, writing publications, planning working groups and meetings, and webinar support.
She previously worked at the National Center for State Courts, within the Knowledge and Information Services division, assisting analysts with data collection, writing articles, managing social media accounts and the official website. Sofia received her BA in History from the College of William and Mary.
