Daniel Frederking, EdD, is a senior technical assistance consultant at the American Institutes for Research (AIR) and serves as Subject Matter Expert with the Region 9 Comprehensive Center (R9CC), supporting multiple projects. Dr. Frederking has served as a subject matter expert and facilitator for several successful technical assistance projects in school districts and state departments across the country. These projects leverage data-driven instructional coaching, utilizing data to close achievement gaps, and innovative approaches to professional learning and growth to support diverse learning needs.
Dr. Frederking’s other work at AIR includes serving as project director and coach for several state and district projects focused on district and school improvement, strategic planning, data literacy, and rural education. In previous roles at AIR, Dr. Frederking delivered high-quality, intensive capacity-building services for several states through the Regional Educational Laboratory (REL) Midwest and REL Southwest on projects related to recruiting and retaining teachers, developing logic models, and analyzing educational data.
Dr. Frederking has worked in education for over 15 years, serving as a public-school teacher, state department consultant, assessment coordinator, and postsecondary instructor. Dr. Frederking earned his Ed.D. in Teaching and Learning at the College of Education at Illinois State University.
